b-vibe Vibrating Jewel Plug: Sex Toy Review
The b-vibe Vibrating Jewel Plug is backdoor bling that will get you buzzing!
The Verdict: 5 Kinkly Hearts out of Five
The b-vibe Vibrating Jewel Plug is a new product from the brand that has made a name for itself specializing in anal sex toys for people of all anal play comfort levels.
The vibrating jewel plug comes in four colors (pink, teal, purple and emerald green) with a matching crystal on the end. The base with the gem is quite large (1.8" in diameter) which is important for anything that goes up the bum (things without a wide base can get sucked into your excretory tract and warrant a hospital visit to remove.)
The bonus to such a sizable end is that even if you have a fairly curvaceous rear end, it still shows in every position as opposed to some smaller plugs I’ve seen that only show when you bend over and spread your cheeks. I suppose there might be something to be said for the element of surprise, but I prefer my sparkles to be flagrant.
How Did You Use It?
When it comes to anal play, I would say I am like a lot of people; I think it's fine. It's not my go-to, but once in a while, sure. I've had a couple amazing experiences, a handful of "ok" and one experience with an over-eager partner that was Not. Very. Chill. (Note to everyone: You gotta go slow. Not everything is a porno.)
Of the various toys and appendages I've entertained 'round back over the years, butt plugs are not among them.
But I'm always open to new things and when something this adorable comes across your path...well, let's say I was helpless to avoid temptation! Did I mention SPARKLES?
I’m rocking the single life these days, so I tried out the b-vibe Vibrating Jewel plug on my own a few ways. I got myself all hot and bothered, lubed up and popped that bad boy in. Then I played around with the controls to decide which pattern and intensity felt best. Another time I used it with a clitoral vibrator (turns out vibing in stereo is too much vibration for me!) and I tried just wearing it around the house doing chores like some kind of slutty Cinderella. Best so far is when I wore it while I read my favorite erotica then sent some flirty messages to my crush.
How Else Could It Be Used?
Some people enjoy the feeling of wearing a butt plug just on its own. Some do it to ready their body for anal penetration with something larger, or as an indication of submission to their dominant partner. You can really capitalize on the power exchange with the Vibrating Jewel by handing over the remote to your Dom and being buzzed at their will.
You can also use it as a “bonus” to your other sexual exploits. Some like to use it when giving or getting a handjob or during p-in-v sex. A butt plug compresses your vaginal wall and makes vaginal sex feel tighter, and enhances the sensation of oral sex, particularly if your partner taps or wiggles the plug while going down. The joy of this b-vibe plug is that it does this plus vibrates.
Product Details
The Vibrating Jewel comes in two sizes: small/medium and medium/large. I opted for the smaller size, which is still a not-inconsiderable 1.45” at its widest diameter. The stem of it, where your anus will close around if you are wearing it for any length of time, is a much more manageable half inch diameter, but you still have to stretch over the widest part to get to there. For reference, the Odile Anal Dilator starts at 1 inch and other beginner plugs can be found in Kinkly Shop with a diameter of 1 inch. Believe me, that .45 inch makes a big difference when it comes to your b-hole.
There are six levels of intensity and 15 vibration patterns. I found the higher intensity to be too much. Whether due to my anatomy or what, I don’t know, but I felt like the strongest vibrations were at a frequency that rattled my spine in a very unpleasant way. The lower ones though...Oh daddy! They were just fine!
The vibrator motor in the plug has the additional benefit of giving it a bit of weight which was a bonus during extended wear, the solid feeling was a strong physical reminder of my kinky secret bling.
Speaking of extended wear, I would have to say this is a great one for that. The stem of the plug is pliable, meaning you can sit down and move around easily. The bulbous end was large enough that I didn't have to clench when I walked. I liked the vibrations for giving my sexy sessions a boost into the stratosphere, but for just wearing around, I found the vibrations weren't necessary.
Worth mentioning too, the plug is very, very quiet. It was slightly louder at higher intensities, but even in a quiet room I could barely hear it under a blanket.

How it Works
The b-vibe Vibrating Jewel is very simple to use. The plug itself has one button. It powers the plug on and off as well as varies the pattern if you would rather do it that way than use the remote. The remote also has a power button plus three additional controls: vibration intensity up, vibration intensity down, and vibration pattern. There is a travel lock to stop it from inadvertently getting turned on which you can engage or disengage by holding the button on the plug for 5 seconds or by holding both the intensity control buttons on the remote for three seconds.
Having the option to hand the remote over to relinquish control is something I really like in a sex toy, although I will say dialing the vibrations in just right took a bit of experimentation and would be tough with another person.
Unlike toys that rely on an app to control things remotely that show the user exactly the pattern and speed the toy is on, toys that have a regular button remote don't. So the controller has to remember how many times they have clicked which button or the person wearing the plug must be able to direct them.
Generally, dialing the intensity up to 11 is a safe bet for me, but with the b-vibe Vibrating Jewel, about halfway was the magic spot. Lower and it wasn't enough, higher, and the frequency felt like it was shaking my spine from the inside. Not too much makes me say "red light" but that did. It didn't hurt, it was just jarring to an unbearable degree.
My only other complaint (and I really don’t have many about the Vibrating Jewel plug) is that it would have been nice if the plug remained on the setting I had it at when I switched it off. Everytime you turn it on, it starts at the beginning of the cycle and you have to fiddle to get it back to your favorite.
Materials and Care
The b-vibe Vibrating Jewel is made of smooth silicone that slides right in with a nice big dollop of water-based lube after using your fingers to stretch a bit first. The teardrop shape is standard for a butt plug, the taper slowly stretching you on entrance. I'm not a physicist so the idea that that means it comes out big part first did not occur to me until it was too late to reconsider. The secret is more lube and patience. And a bit more lube.
The remote has a replaceable watch battery and the plug is USB rechargeable that attaches magnetically. It isn't a super strong magnet and the plug tends to roll a bit which means you can knock the charger off without realizing it.
The b-vibe Vibrating Jewel plug is "splashproof" which means you can wash it and get it wet, but don't submerge it or hold it under running water. If you just have to wear a plug on your next hot tub adventure, use a different one!
As with all sex toys, but particularly ones that are exposed to rear-end bacteria, cleanliness is of the utmost importance. Use an antibacterial dish soap or sex toy cleaner before and after every use.
The Packaging
The b-vibe plug arrived at my door in a discreet plain box. Under the wrapping, the toy is packaged in a sturdy cardboard box with an outer sleeve that slips off easily that has a picture of the plug and some marketing copy.
The box underneath is plain but the size and name of the product is written prominently, so if you need to keep your proclivities on the DL, you'll need to ditch it. The front of the box opens like a door. It doesn't have another little box that slides out of the outer box, so don't stand there like a dummy for 3 minutes trying to open it that way. Ahem.
The Vibrating Jewel Plug comes with the plug, matching remote, USB charging cord, the user manual, a bright "Guide to Anal Play" booklet, a travelling case that looks like a little make up bag and a hilarious "Anal is Magic" sticker with a unicorn on it. I contemplated putting it on my laptop for half a second, but let's face it, not everyone at this Starbucks is ready for that level of honesty!
The Verdict: 5/5
This is a sweet addition to my sex toy collection. I've pulled it out of the drawer several times since I got it and I've enjoyed it every time. It's easy to use, it feels great and it is so pretty. Really, just call me Princess Derrière in this thing.
The "cons" - namely, the unpleasant frequency of the highest intensity vibration and the fact there is no memory function to keep my preferred settings at the ready, are personal preference and minor...not enough to dissuade me from recommending you give it a try!
Other Options
There is a huge variety of plugs on the market. Pretty much whatever you want, you can find! The features I liked most in the b-vibe Vibrating Jewel Plug where the way it looked, how it operated and (eventually) the size. If you are looking for options along those lines, check these out:
If you want a lightshow: A sparkling jewel not fancy enough for your tastes? The OhMiBod Lumen has an LED light you (or your partner) can vary - even set to respond to ambient noise or your playlist. It is compatible with both the OhMiBod app for long distance remote control and the KIIROO app to sync to a partner with a KIIROO toy.
If you want thrust over vibration: The XR Thump-It thumping plug doesn't deliver vibrations, rather it thrusts. This means you get a feeling closer to that of of anal sex or getting pegged rather than the buzzy vibrations of other vibrating plugs.
If you want an adjustable option: If you want a plug for stretching or anal training more than a static plug, the Odile Anal Dilator is an all in one option that increases in diameter in tiny increments.
Tips for Buying a Butt Plug
Decide what material you want: You can find body safe butt plugs in glass, silicone and stainless steel. If you want it to vibrate, you are pretty much limited to silicone. Don't go for anything made from wood, hard plastic or jelly, which can harbor bacteria.
Decide on a size: You can find very slim "beginner" plugs and from there they go up to a size that is similar to a fist and forearm. Even If you are just starting your anal journey, you might not want to go too small, as your body adapts pretty quickly and you might want a fuller feel than they supply. Try inserting a finger or two and measure what feels comfortable to use as a guide. If you are a size queen just remember you can't go immediately to the massive ones...you gotta work up to that monster.
Choose the features you want: Do you want something that vibrates? They cost more than the non-vibrating versions and if it isn't something you are going to enjoy, it probably isn't worth the extra expense. Want a partner to be able to control it? Look for an app-controlled or remote control version. And if you are going for a certain aesthetic, you can find it too...from unicorn tails to light shows!
