Jaxson Benjamin

Jaxson is a queer, disabled social justice educator and writer. Born and raised on Lenni Lenape land in re-named Philadelphia, they have always had a passion for social change and human connectivity. After working with various communities in Philly and the land of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation in re-named Melbourne, Australia Jax is proud to have earned their Bachelor's degree in Community Development from Australia's Victoria University. Returning to Philadelphia, Jax continues their work in social justice while working towards earning a Master's of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University (2021 completion date).Jaxson’s work combines knowledge of the two fields of Community Development and Sexology to aid in facilitating change in the social justice arena, focusing on disability justice with an intersectional approach. As an educator, Jax aims to promote critical thinking and creative problem solving to encourage the development of holistic worldviews. This includes, reshaping gender roles, revising health education, redrafting history as told from the colonial narrative to overall question the inclusivity of societal norms.
