Living in Leather is a flagship event of the National Leather Association (NLA), an organization in the United States that's dedicated to the SM, leather, and fetish community. The NLA was formed in response to the clamor for a nationwide pansexual organization. The annual Living in Leather gathering is celebratory of alternative lifestyles and marks positive steps towards an equitable and accepting society.

So, one will find variations of Living in Leather gatherings, with some that are not organized by the National Leather Association.
