Omnisexual refers to someone who experiences sexual attraction towards individuals regardless of sex, gender, or sexual orientation. It is not that omnisexuals do not recognize genders or sexual orientations. It is that they are attracted to people of all genders and sexual orientations.

Omnisexual sounds very similar to pansexual, and some people do use the terms interchangeably although they are actually distinct. The difference lies mainly in the perception of gender. While a pansexual may perceive gender as an irrelevant construct and adopt more of a "people are people" approach, an omnisexual recognizes the different genders and distinct identities that exist within the construct. They simply do not affect their partner choices. They are attracted to all genders.
