Tea bagging is a sexual act in which someone dips their scrotum and testicles into their partner’s mouth or, less commonly, dips them against their partner's face.. The term gets its name from the repetitive motion, which is similar to someone dipping a tea bag in and out of a teacup when brewing tea.

Tea bagging gained attention when it was featured in the 1998 "Pecker," directed by cult filmmaker John Waters. It earned by mainstream attention when it was discussed in "Sex & The City" and on "The Howard Stern Show." American columnist Dan Savage also explained tea bagging in his popular Savage Love column in 2009.

There are two positions for tea bagging. The teabaggee can lay down on their back. The teabagger then squats above their face and starts to teabag. Alternatively, the couple can get into a common fellatio position, with the teabagger standing and the teabaggee kneeling in front of them. From this position, the teabagger can then start teabagging.

The teabagger may put their testicles and scrotum in and out of the teabaggee’s mouth. Alternatively, the teabagger may touch their scrotum and testicles repeatedly against the teabaggee’s face or head. This option can be easier for people with sensitive gag reflexes who struggle to take the scrotum and testicles into their mouths.

As the scrotum and testicles are packed with nerve endings, tea bagging can be very pleasurable for the teabagger. The teabaggee may also enjoy the oral sensation of having the scrotum or testicles in their mouth and feel aroused by the pleasure they’re giving the teabagger. They can increase their pleasure by masturbating while they’re getting tea bagged. Some submissive people may enjoy getting tea bagged because it makes them feel used or degraded.

Tea bagging is often performed with fellatio as part of foreplay. Couples may also enjoy tea bagging on its own, either as foreplay or as a substitute for vaginal or anal sex. Dominants may also include tea bagging in humiliation scenes.

More About Tea Bagging

Often the teabagee plays a passive role, using their mouth like a teacup and simply accepting the testicles and scrotum. However, they can also take a more active role, as they might if giving a blow job. For example, they might gently suck on the scrotum or tug on it with their lips. They could also perform a handjob while being tea bagged or encourage their partner to masturbate. Guests on an episode of "The Howard Stern Show" once debated whether licking and fondling changes the sex act to the point that it is no longer considered tea bagging.

The teabagger can also give their partner pleasure during teabagging. For example, they might squat facing their partner’s body so they can reach down and touch them while they’re tea bagging.

Tea bagging is one of the safest forms of foreplay. While the teabagger may ejaculate, they do this outside of the teabaggee’s mouth so they have no contact with the bodily fluids. This means there’s very little risk of contracting or transmitting sexually transmitted infections during tea bagging. As the scrotum is incredibly sensitive, it’s important to be careful with it and avoid contact with the teeth.

Tea bagging should always occur with the full consent of both parties. When it is, this sex act can be a great way to increase intimacy and sexual pleasure. However, tea bagging is often done without consent during practical jokes, hazing rituals, or bullying episodes. In these circumstances, tea bagging can be a way of showing dominance and humiliating another person. Talking about tea bagging ahead of time gives both parties a chance to consent to the act and find out what they like. The teabagger may want the teabaggee to take a more active or passive role. They may enjoy gentle sensations or something a little rougher. Teebaggees may want clean-shaven testicles or accept them however they come. Talking about likes and dislikes gives a couple the best chance of having a positive tea bagging experience.

It’s also good etiquette for the teabagger to practice good personal hygiene. The scrotum and testicles can get sweaty and smelly, so it’s good manners for teabaggers to shower thoroughly within a few hours of tea bagging.
