Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis or "Trich" is the most common sexually transmitted infection among young women. The symptoms of Trichomoniasis can include vaginal discharge that is greenish-yellow and frothy with a strong odor, pain when urinating or engaging in intercourse, vaginal itching and irritation, and, in rare cases, pain in the lower abdomen.

Trichomoniasis is caused by a tiny organism called Trichomonas vaginalis and is curable via treatment with antibiotics.

More About Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis primarily affects women, although men can contract the infection and pass it along to their female partners. In the rare cases when trichomoniasis manifests symptoms in a male carrier, those symptoms can include slight penile discharge, irritation to the inside of the penis, and burning following urination or ejaculation.
