Dorothy Black: Sexy, educational, and funny.
Kinkly: What inspired you to start the blog?
Dorothy Black: Honestly? I started it because I wanted to bitch about an ex. I just got super bored with that very quickly. Three posts into it and I was talking about life, sex, and love in general.
Kinkly: What’s behind the name?
Dorothy Black: Nothing very exciting. Unfortunately or fortunately, I share a name with a porn star. I think it confuses a few people.
Kinkly: Who’s your target reader?
Dorothy Black: My main readership base is between 24 and 40 years old and equally distributed between men and women.
Kinkly: What’s unique about your blog?
Dorothy Black: I think the voice and specific features like the NSFW Hello to Monday insert that features top erotic sites, Tumblrs, artists, and photographers is very popular.
Kinkly: What is the topic you find yourself covering most often and why?
Dorothy Black: There really isn’t one specific topic, but the underlying theme I suppose is sexual self-empowerment.
Kinkly: What was your most popular post ever? Why do you think it drew so many readers?
Dorothy Black: The one that has drawn the most comments is the one about men who like to wear women’s panties.
Kinkly: What’s the best thing about writing a sex blog?
Dorothy Black: The access it gives me to people in the industry and that it can really change people’s lives.
Kinkly: What’s the worst thing about it?
People think you’re "nympho" or that sex is all you know about. In South Africa, there is very little support or recognition of the work sex and relationships bloggers/columnists do.
Kinkly: OK, now for the good stuff: Give us your best tip for great sex.
