Hypoactive sexual desire disorder is a sexual dysfunction marked by the absence of interest in sexual activity and sexual fantasy. In order to be recognized as a disorder, the symptoms must not be able to be explained by other circumstances such as medical or mental disorder or drug use. Additionally, the symptoms must cause distress in the personal life of the patient.
