More About Candidiasis
Candidiasis can affect the mouth, genitals, skin, and can even infect the bloodstream. If the yeast is found in the mouth, it is commonly referred to as thrush. When it is found in the genital area, it is referred to as a yeast infection. If it is found on the skin, commonly on the bottom of a baby, it is referred to as diaper rash. If it is found in the bloodstream, it is called invasive candidiasis. The infection can be transferred if proper precautions are not taken. This includes giving oral sex to an individual with a vaginal yeast infection.
