An individual that has a claustrophilia fetish experiences an unusual sexual desire to be enclosed or confined in a small space. The fetishist often finds the closeness or tightness sexually arousing. The fetishist may receive sexual gratification from lying inside a coffin, or by wearing a straight jacket. Depending on how intense the fetish is, sexual gratification may be achieved through simply wearing restrictive clothing, or, in more extreme cases, being physically placed into a confined space.
