Male to Female

Transgendered individuals typically do not identify with the gender they were assigned at birth. Some people who were born with male features and genitalia identify as being female, and likewise some people born "female" identify as male. Once a transgendered person undergoes reassignment surgery, terms like MTF are used to categorize the particular gender transition that took place.
