New Relationship Energy

New relationship energy has been compared to “puppy love” or the “honeymoon phase.” Both imply that a new relationship energy's high is temporary. It is bound to fade with time. Faded energy is ideally replaced by a stronger bond between partners, one that is founded on deep love and shared experiences. There are repercussions in thinking that new relationship energy is the ideal. Since relationships naturally age, one should be able to transition smoothly into a more grounded expectation of relationships, particularly when it comes to how partners engage with each other.
