Reverse Box Tie

A reverse box tie is a rope bondage technique which binds a submissive’s arms behind their back in a square, box-like shape. Many bondage positions build from the reverse box tie.

The reverse box tie is sometimes called simply the box tie. However, this general term can refer to any rope bondage technique which binds the arms in a box shape, whether the arms are bound at the back or front.

More About Reverse Box Tie

To get in position, submissives put their arms behind their backs, with each palm resting flat on the opposite forearm. This creates the “box.” Dominants then tie the wrists together in position, before wrapping the rope around the body at the height of the lower parts of the deltoid muscles. Any higher and there’s a risk the rope will pop up over the shoulder if the submissive struggles. Once the tie is complete, the section at the wrists can be connected to a crotch tie to further restrict movement.

The term reverse box tie refers to the positioning of the arms, rather than the actual ties used. Any type of rope configuration can be referred to as a reverse box tie, so long as the rope restricts the arms behind the submissive’s back in the distinctive box shape.

The reverse box tie is such a popular bondage position because it can effectively restrict submissives while helping them stay comfortable. It also doesn’t restrict circulation or cause nerve issues as positions that bind the elbows together do. For all these reasons, the reverse box tie is ideal for extended bondage sessions. While the ropes should be firm, they shouldn’t be tight enough to compromise blood flow. It’s also best to tie the arms back a little from the wrists, which are vulnerable to nerve damage.
