Trichomoniasis is caused by a tiny organism called Trichomonas vaginalis and is curable via treatment with antibiotics.
More About Trichomoniasis
Trichomoniasis primarily affects women, although men can contract the infection and pass it along to their female partners. In the rare cases when trichomoniasis manifests symptoms in a male carrier, those symptoms can include slight penile discharge, irritation to the inside of the penis, and burning following urination or ejaculation.
