Self-bondage refers to someone tying, binding, or restraining themselves. Self-bondage can be accomplished with rope, handcuffs, chains, or other commonly available restraints.
More About Self Bondage
When practiced alone, self-bondage is one of the most dangerous forms of kink play and, in some instances, has led to death. The more someone binds themselves, the more limited their range of motion becomes, and the more difficult it becomes for them to release themselves.
Release mechanisms such as a key in a block of ice are sometimes employed to designate the amount of time the self-bondage will last. Because of this, it can be difficult to get unbound quickly in the case of an emergency.
If health issues occur, such as an asthma attack, or other emergencies such as a fire, self-bondage can be fatal if they can’t release themselves in time to deal with the emergency.
